Why this is better than applying for jobs one by one
When you apply on a job site, you do the same work again and again. Find the job, change your resume, send it, wait. Most of the time nobody replies and you never find out why. And you can only apply to the jobs someone has posted.
Here it works the other way round. You upload your resume once, and employers look through it when they need someone. So one hour of work keeps helping you — including for jobs that were never posted anywhere, which is a lot of the hiring in Mumbai.
It also changes who calls you. An employer pays 50 credits to see a candidate's phone number and email, and they only do that after reading the resume. Nobody pays to call someone they are not serious about.
What employers look for
They search using what your resume says. These are the things they look at.
- The work you do
- Employers search by job title and by the work itself. So the jobs you have actually done are what bring you up in their results.
- Your skills and tools
- Employers search for skills by name — Tally, GST returns, Excel. If those words are in your resume, you show up when someone searches for them.
- How much experience you have
- Employers search for a range — two to four years, five years and above, fresher. Your resume decides which of those searches you come up in.
- How far you live from their office
- Your home pincode, compared with their office. Job sites do not check this. It is what decides whether a job in Mumbai is something you could actually do every day.
You decide when recruiters can find you
There is a switch on your profile called Currently Looking for Job. When it is on, recruiters can find your resume. When it is off, they cannot. Your resume stays saved either way — so when you start looking again, you just turn the switch back on. You do not have to upload it a second time.
