A call can come at any time. A few small habits make a good first impression.

Be ready to say

  • Your name and the job you want.
  • The work you have done and the tools you use.
  • Where you live and how you will travel.
  • When you can start.

Be ready to ask

  • What the job is and what the work will be.
  • Where the office is.
  • What the working hours are.
  • What the next step is.

If you cannot talk, say so politely and ask when you can call back. Write the number down so you do not lose it.

Keep it fresh

Keep your resume and settings up to date

  • Add a new skill or tool to your resume when you learn it.

Put it where employers search, as well as sending it out yourself. Uploading it to ResumeDB takes about a minute. After that, a recruiter looking for your kind of job in your area can find it, even when you are not sending it anywhere.

Where should I upload my resume to get calls from recruiters?

Upload it where employers search. On ResumeDB, employers look through resumes themselves by job, skills, experience and distance. They pay credits to see a candidate's phone number and email, so being there puts you in front of people who are hiring.

Should I upload my resume if I am not looking right now?

You can. The 'Currently Looking for Job' switch decides whether recruiters can find your resume. If you upload it now, your resume stays on ResumeDB, so you do not start from the beginning when you begin looking. Just turn the switch on.

Which file format should my resume be in?

PDF, DOC or DOCX, up to 5MB. Whatever you wrote it in is almost certainly fine. There is no ResumeDB format to copy it into.

Do I need to rewrite my resume for ResumeDB?

No. Employers search the words inside your resume, so upload the one you already have. Just check that it names your skills and tools, because those are the words employers search for.
